After rapid advancement as a CPA with a large international accounting firm for seven years, Ed received a call into full-time ministry. He graduated from Asbury Seminary in May 2000 with International Honors of Theta Phi. He was ordained a United Methodist deacon in 1998 and elder in 2002. While in seminary, he also served as a student pastor in East Texas. Since graduation Ed has served rural settings such as Poplar Grove UMC in the Asbury District, has served a regional mega-church at Christ United Methodist in Memphis, First UMC Millington, and worked with church planting, Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare. He has worked with or led numerous groups at the district and conference levels in the UMC and spoken/been published at local, regional and national levels. He holds degrees of Bachelors and Masters of Accountancy, Masters of Divinity and an Honorary Doctorate of Theology.
For several years, Ed has worked to balance his life in ministry with his role as a husband and father. He also enjoys coaching baseball, soccer, basketball and helping youth develop small business skills. His ministry passions include discipleship and missions, working with all age groups and especially working with new Christians and those exploring the Christian faith. In the past, Ed has spent a considerable amount of time with his international missions colleague, Dr. Solomon Christian, launching the work of Dental Care for the World in Liberia, Guinea and other places in West Africa.
